Why Qi’a (pronounced chia) you ask?  For starters, a tiny little 8 oz. bag of Qi’a contains a huge amount of nutrition!  Qi’a boasts a trio chia seeds, hemp seeds and buckwheat groats, which provide us with:

  • 6 grams of plant protein
  • 4 grams of fiber
  • 2.5 grams of ALA OMEGA-3s

It is certified organic, non-GMO project verified, sugar-free and gluten-free.  Your tummy will thank you!

What’s interesting about this cereal is the way in which it is prepared.  Using only 2 tbsp. (yes, you read that right, just 2 tbsp.) soak the seed trio in a plant-based milk substitute like coconut or almond milk (do your tummy another favor and use carageenan-free).  The best result is to soak overnight in the fridge.  For those who do not like cold cereals, just warm on the stove as you would oatmeal.  The goal is to get you to try it and like it!

I top mine with wild blueberries for a little sweetness.  Any berry will do but I choose wild blueberries as they offer more antioxidants than its cultivated counterpart.

Qi’a is a great way to start a grain free day!
